Picture yourself for a moment floating in a river of sewage. It’s brown, thick, and the stench is unbearable. As you look around, you see no shore line as the river is flowing between two very high canyon walls.
As you gag and try desperately to not vomit, the bodies of tiny babies begin floating by. Many have no head and some are missing limbs. As you gaze at them. some appear to be looking back at you with eyes that ask, why?
Streaks of blood cover the river sticking to you like glue. You hear the screams and cries of the those who have been tortured and murdered for no reason. Their only crime, to tell you, and others, the way to be saved from the river.
As you try to wipe the river from your eyes, you begin to see all of the others that are floating in the river with you. Some are crying, wanting desperately to get out of the river, but they do not know how. Others appear to be deranged and are drinking the sewage water feverishly as if they hunger for it.
Struggling to stay afloat, you see many grasping to other things floating in the river. Curiously, there is a name written on each item floating in the river. Each of those items only appear to float for a short amount of time. Some shorter than others. As they begin sinking, that person would look for another item to grab onto. They appear to always grab onto the item with the same name.
You then begin noticing that each time a person grabs a hold of another item, they appear to become weaker and struggle to hold on. Eventually, to your horror, you see each person sink into the river holding onto their item.
Some grab onto other people to help them float. They also become weak, are pulled down, with all of them sinking into the river to never to rise again.
Immediately, you find yourself high above the river, as you look down, you see a horrific sight that shakes you to your core. The river ends. It not only ends, but flows into a bottomless dark abyss that all of those in the river do not see or know is coming.
Let me ask you, what temporary god, pleasure, or drug are you holding onto that satisfies only for the moment, but will ultimately lead to your eternal death? Have you believed the lies of Satan as he throws you sinking items, one after another, telling you he can save you?
There is One who’s hand is above the river. He loves you and has made a way out of this river of deception. His name is Jesus Christ. Grab His hand and he will pull you out, clean you off, give you new white and beautiful clothes, and place you in a boat that rides above this river. When the end of the river arrives, we will be taken from the boat to the shores of our eternal home feeding off the crisp , clear, cool, refreshing, and living water flowing from the throne of GOD.
You were made in the image of GOD, not Satan. Reach up, grab His hand!
May GOD bless you and open the eyes and ears of everyone on this planet to His truth.
